Am I able to have this treatment?

You may NOT have this procedure if:

• You are under 18
• You have high blood pressure or heart conditions
• You are taking blood-thinners such as aspirin or similar medication
• You have diabetes
• You are pregnant or lactating
• You develop infections easily
• Undergoing Chemotherapy
• You have herpes simplex
• You have certain skin conditions e.g. rashes, blisters, psoriasis, or eczema in the treatment area
• You are taking steroids such as cortisone, Accutane, Retin-A or Renova
• Blood disorder e.g. sickle cell anemia, haemophilia, or a platelet disorder

How can I prepare?

• Do not drink alcohol 24 – 48 hours before your procedure
• Do not consume coffee or any caffeine the day of your procedure
• Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)
• Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure.
• Do not take or get any chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, vitamin E, retinols, fish oil, at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
• If your appointment is booked during an outbreak of cold sores on your lips the procedure may not be done. Please be aware that you have the simplex virus herpes, you may awaken an outbreak following this treatment. It is highly recommended to take an anti-viral medication advised by your doctor or pharmacist.
• Do not get lip injections 4 weeks before and after this treatment.
• Use Vaseline or lip balm to keep your lips nice and plump

What is permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup, sometimes called semi-permanent makeup or micropigmentation, is a form of cosmetic tattooing. Unlike traditional tattoos, this treatment uses a digital machine to implant hypoallergenic, pharmaceutical-grade pigments into the top layer of the skin.

What is ombré/powder brows?

Powder brows is a semi-permanent makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with a soft powder effect, resembling powder makeup. This effect is achieved using a shading technique with a permanent makeup device, similar to a tattoo gun.

What is lip blushing?

Lip blushing is a semi-permanent tattoo technique that enhances the color and shape of your lips, giving the appearance of more fullness. This is achieved by depositing color ink into your lips and along your lip line to improve their overall look.

What is dark lip neutralization?

Dark lip neutralization is a specialized treatment for those with cool or dark-toned lips. The procedure involves color correction to neutralize the darkness. After healing (around six weeks), the lips typically achieve a nudey-pink even tone. Note that results may vary, and multiple sessions might be required to achieve the desired lightening or evening effect.

How long does permanent makeup last?

Permanent makeup pigments, made from mineral and organic materials, are designed to fade over time. They generally last between 12-18 months. Maintenance treatments like a color boost or touch-up can refresh the color, shape, and definition. Some individuals may retain visible pigment residues much longer.

Does it hurt?

The procedure is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. Techniques used are gentle and minimize skin trauma. Numbing agents can be applied for sensitivity. For those nervous about pain, taking 1-2 Tylenol 30 minutes before the appointment is recommended. Avoid Advil or coffee before the procedure as they can cause increased bleeding and sensitivity.

Do I need a touch-up?

Touch-ups are recommended for everyone. During a touch-up session, adjustments can be made to the shape or color of the tattoo, making it bolder or filling in areas that didn’t retain pigment as well. Touch-ups also extend the longevity of the tattoo and can be booked no sooner than six weeks after the initial appointment.

How can you extend results?

Fading is inevitable, but there are ways to prolong results. Use SPF and sun protection to prevent UV rays from bleaching the pigment. Avoid skincare products containing strong acids or Retinols, as these can interfere with the pigment and accelerate fading.
